Welcome to CompaNanny

Moeder brengt kind op kinderopvang CompaNanny

Is your child starting at our kindergarten or after-school care?

If so, we'd like to direct you to the relevant page:

What to expect between now and your child’s first day

Below, we explain a number of the steps in the timeline.

We look forward to welcoming you to our daycare!

2–12 months before the start
We enjoy getting to know you and other new CompaNanny parents before your child starts. That's why the team at your branch invites you to the daycare several times a year. For example, for a coffee morning with other parents or a knowledge session led by an expert on sleep, nutrition or another parenting topic.

Apply for childcare allowance

2–1 months before the start
You’ll receive your first invoice from us. Thanks to the childcare allowance provided by the government, you'll receive a contribution towards your childcare costs.

Has your child already been born? If so, you can apply for childcare allowance now via toeslagen.nl. When applying, make sure you enter the start date of your contract. You will only begin receiving childcare allowance once your child's childcare has started.

We recommend applying for childcare allowance in good time. This helps ensure you receive the allowance from the tax authorities before our first invoice is due.

Would you like to know how much allowance you're entitled to and how to apply?

Access the Parent Portal

6 weeks before the start
Around six weeks before your child’s start date, you'll receive an email from us with your Parent Portal login details.

In the Parent Portal app, you can follow your child’s day at CompaNanny. Our Childcare Professionals will send you photos and a digital diary to keep you updated on how your child is doing. You'll also receive information from your branch through the app and can easily arrange practical matters. For example, reporting an absence when you're on holiday or requesting an extra childcare day.

Getting to know each other

4 weeks before the start
One month before your child’s first day, we'll invite you by phone to visit the daycare. During this warm and personal introduction, we can get to know each other better.

We’ll show you the group where your child will be cared for and introduce you to the Childcare Professionals working there that day.

There will also be plenty of opportunity to tell us more about your child and family. How are things going at home when it comes to sleeping, eating, drinking and playing? How would you describe your child?

We’re interested in any details about your child’s development, health or upbringing that may be relevant. This helps us support your child as well as possible, both at childcare and at home. Because raising children is something we do together.

During our introduction, we’ll also talk through the settling-in process together. We’ll discuss what the settling-in days will look like and which dates they will take place on.

The start form

4 weeks before the start
During our introduction at the branch, we’ll already have learned quite a bit about you and your child. To make sure we're also aligned on practical matters, we'll send you a digital start form by email. We ask you to complete it and return it to us.

The form allows you to share important information about your child. What does your child eat and at what times? What helps them settle to sleep? Are there any allergies we should be aware of? This helps us provide the best possible care and support.

Settling into the group

During the week before or of the first contracted day
We think it’s important that your child feels at home with us. We take the time to make this happen, which is why we begin with three settling-in sessions.

We’d be happy to tell you more about what the settling-in period at CompaNanny looks like.

Our knowledge centre

At CompaNanny, we have more than 20 years of experience and expertise in parenting and child development. We love sharing that knowledge with as many parents as possible.

That’s why our knowledge centre is filled with blogs and podcast episodes (mostly in Dutch) packed with educational insights and practical tips. We’ve selected a few that are especially relevant to the stage you're in right now.
