Our After-School Care (BSO)
Why choose After-School Care at CompaNanny?
At CompaNanny’s After-School Care (in Dutch: BSO), we provide childcare for primary school children aged 4 to 12: on school day afternoons, on study days and during school holidays. Our BSO is a welcoming and stimulating place where your child can relax after a long day at school and gain new experiences.
Whether your child prefers sports or cooking, recharges with a book or with a ball, enjoys playing alone or with friends, or likes to be challenged with a creative or technical activity: there is always something to do at our BSO that matches your child’s age, needs and interests. Together with the children, our Childcare Professionals create a safe environment where each child can be themselves and develop at their own pace, in their own way.
We focus on discovering talents, independence, healthy nutrition, outdoor play and connection with nature. Our pedagogical vision forms the foundation of everything we do, based on our belief: The most beautiful thing a child can become is who they are.

“
“At our After-School Care, you see children grow in a different way than at school. Here, there is more space for individuality and social development, and they go on a journey of discovery to find out who they are and what their talents are. Being able to contribute to children’s self-confidence, resilience and independence is what makes this work so rewarding for me!”

What a day at our After-School Care looks like
Would you like to read more about what makes CompaNanny such a great childcare provider for children? You can find out on our page “What we offer children”.
Children have a say
At our After-School Care, we work with a consistent daily rhythm in broad terms. A clear rhythm provides, especially for younger children, a sense of structure, trust and calm. As your child grows older and their sense of autonomy becomes more important, they are given more freedom within this structure.
The way the afternoon / day is organised at the BSO is shaped as much as possible by the children’s own needs and ideas, too. Freedom of choice and child participation play an important role in this. Children are encouraged to think along and help make decisions about all kinds of things, such as new play materials, the activity programme and the rules. In this way, your child practises skills that they will need later in society, in a safe environment.
Would you like to learn more about the meaning and importance of child participation? You can read more in our blog (in Dutch).
What’s included at our After-School Care:
Our team at the After-School Care
Our people make the difference. A team of engaged and experienced Childcare Professionals is ready each afternoon to ensure that your child feels at home and has the space to be themselves and explore the world. For you as a parent, they are your first point of contact. Together with the Branch Management, they form a strong team, supported by, among others, our Childcare Specialists and Regional Quality Coaches.
At our after-school care, we have a mix of Childcare Professionals with a (social) pedagogical background and those with a sports education, such as PABO, ALO or CIOS. They are both thinkers and doers, each bringing their own talents. This provides a rich variety of experiences, activities and guidance, and ensures diversity in role models, who play a valuable role in your child’s life.

Parenting together
As a parent, you often know better than anyone what your child’s needs, qualities and interests are. At the same time, each stage brings new challenges, especially during those formative years at primary school, which sometimes lead to questions about your toddler’s development and parenting.

We are here not only for your child, but for you as well. We are happy to think along with you and align as much as possible with your wishes and needs, just as we do for your toddler.
