Daycare

The first five years of a child’s life are essential for determining what kind of person they will become. Which is why everything we do is done carefully and in line with our Pedagogic Vision.

The CompaNanny Pedagogic Vision

The CompaNanny Pedagogic Vision

Our Pedagogic Vision and working method are based on our own expertise, scientific research and knowledge from various renowned international child-rearing trends. Our Nannies use both as a guideline to optimally support your child in their development. This is not done randomly, but by stimulating essential skills through specific actions and activities targeted to your child’s developmental stages. Our pedagogic working method is based around seven core values, because we believe that these values are key in bringing out the best in children and form the basis for optimal development. The 7 core values are:

  • Respect for yourself, others and the world
  • Self-confidence and Authenticity
  • Responsibility and Decisiveness
  • Curiosity and Creativity

The daily routine

A fixed daily routine gives young children a sense of clarity, confidence and calm. By implementing rhythms and rituals, such as singing a song before eating, a child becomes familiar with things. And by also naming the moments and transitions during the day, they know where they stand. As a result, a child feels less overwhelmed, can relax better and can prepare themselves for the (next) moment of the day at their own pace. Within the daily routine, we also pay a lot of attention to the individual needs of each child and we take the wishes of parents/guardians into account.

A daily routine in the group at CompaNanny usually looks like this:

  • 7:30 am - 9:30 am: Get the day off to a good start. The children are dropped off and we ease into things slowly. Depending on whether they have already eaten at home, the very youngest go to sleep in the cradle or are fed a bottle or fruit snack while on the Nanny’s lap. The older children sit together at the table and have some fruit and water or tea.
  • 10:00 am - 11:30 am: Sleep or play. After having something to eat, the youngest go to sleep. Each group has its own bedroom in which the children have their own bed. The older children who no longer need that much sleep can now play, go outside or do an activity.
  • 11:30 am - 12:00 pm: Lunch! All children from the age of 9 months are served a warm lunch in their group. The lunches are freshly prepared each day and are made from mainly organic products. Lunch is eaten at the table in small groups.
  • 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Unwind. Often after lunch the children crawl around or play a bit before they snuggle into their own sleeping bag and are placed into their beds. While they sleep, the Nannies clean everything up and ensure that the group is set up in a different way so that when the children wake up, they come into new surroundings and they can discover new things.
  • 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm: Snack time. In the afternoon we sit at the table in small groups and eat raw vegetables, crackers or yoghurt and drink a glass of water or tea. We sing a song with the children beforehand so that they recognise its time to eat; this familiarisation is good for their sense of emotional security.
  • 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm: Playtime! This is often when everyone goes outside to play in the garden. Then most parents/guardians come to pick up their child and the Nannies tell them what their child experienced/did that day.
  • 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Special adventures. The children who stay a little longer come together in a group that is specially designed for the evening. The atmosphere is calm, cosy and warm so that the children can relax from their day. The children have something to eat and they play with special toys such as a light projector and discovery boxes.

More about our people

Go to work with peace of mind

Our Nursery is open from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. And we also offer the option of extended childcare until 7:00 pm. Our locations have been designed in a homely way to make children feel right at home. The groups are classified by age, and have a cosy and relaxing ambiance thanks to our use of wood and natural materials.

At CompaNanny, our Nannies’ personal approach and involvement is a given. Trust and open communication from both sides is very important in this. That is why the Nannies ensure that they tell you how the day has gone on a daily basis. They do this by sharing the activities and well-being of your child via the digital diary and regularly uploading photos of your child in the Parent Portal.

Personal attention for every child is very important to us. We look closely at each child to match their needs. Our intention is for your child to feel at home at CompaNanny and to grow up in a familiar environment. That’s what we ensure! So you can go to work with peace of mind.
