Our mission

CompaNanny was founded in 2003 to make a positive contribution to future generations. By offering the best quality in child development and supervision. In a place where children and parents/guardians feel at home and where Nannies pay attention to every child in a loving, dedicated and professional way.

The foundation of our work

The foundation of our work

Everything we do starts with our mission:

‘We believe in a better world and build every day on future generations that contribute to that.

The first five years of a child’s life are essential to the person they will later become. With that in mind, founder Bas Beek started CompaNanny in 2003. Because today’s children are the representatives of tomorrow’s world. That is why, at CompaNanny, we think today about what children need in the future. We stimulate their creativity and teach them to think in terms of solutions. We teach them how to fall, but especially how to get back up. We increase their resilience so that they feel strong, ready for the future.

Founder Bas Beek about the mission of CompaNanny

In 2003 Bas first became acquainted with the world of childcare. He saw an undervalued sector in which many things could be improved. “Childcare is such a beautiful and important task, because it is the children of today who will be picking up the baton from us adults,” says Bas. “I thought childcare should be more qualitative. And so I gave up my job and started working in childcare to experience for myself what could be improved.”

Increasing resilience

Increasing resilience

We speak of resilience when a child dares to stand up for themselves in a way that does not harm others or treat others disrespectfully. A resilient child is able to protect their boundaries. They can defend themselves and they dare to have their own opinion. Resilient children dare to stand up for others. They are independent, but also have the courage to ask for help. They can deal with minor setbacks and know and respect their own limits. At CompaNanny we believe that increasing children’s resilience contributes positively to their future and a better world.

More about our Pedagogic Vision

Child development starts with ourselves

Child development is a continuous process. What was wisdom or truth yesterday will be outdated tomorrow. That is why we never stand still. We keep developing ourselves, we keep researching, learning and innovating. This is how we gain the knowledge and experience that helps our children continue to develop optima. We are eager to learn and dare to follow our own path. Because we want to mean more to children and achieve more as an organisation. Our people are our essential in this; they are our greatest strength.

We share our knowledge

We share our knowledge

We would like all the knowledge and expertise that we have built up over the past 17 years to benefit anyone who needs it. But we cannot give every child the care and guidance of CompaNanny. What we can do is share our knowledge. Like with CompaTalks, for example, where we invite both our own and external experts. Or with CompaBrains, our internal think tank. This way, we hope that our ideas will benefit as many children as possible.
