Our pedagogical vision
Our Manifesto
At CompaNanny, we believe in a world where
every child can grow up to become who they truly are.
Because every child is unique and has valuable qualities
and talents that can make a difference,
in their own lives and in the world around them.
Our mission is to offer children an environment
where they feel seen, heard and loved.
A safe place where they are encouraged
to explore the world and find their own path.
And learn to trust their inner compass.
This development unfolds in steps. Or in leaps.
Through play, driven by curiosity.
Sometimes with detours, always moving forward.
Each child follows their own path, at their own pace.
Our Childcare Professionals guide and challenge them along the way.
We combine over twenty years of experience in childcare
with insights from proven pedagogical approaches.
This forms the foundation of our expertise and unique way of working.
We know how to help children grow into their strengths.
In doing so, we contribute to a generation that enriches the world in its own way.
The most beautiful thing a child can become is who they are.
Our pedagogical approach
At CompaNanny, we see children as naturally competent. Every child develops at their own pace and in their own way. That is why we create an environment where your child feels safe and seen, and has the space and encouragement to be themselves and to explore the world through play.
For us, development starts with wellbeing and engagement. When a child feels comfortable and plays with focus and enjoyment, they are able to develop to their full potential. With our own pedagogical approach, built around 6 key elements, we consciously support this every day. Curious about these elements? Read on.
Attentive care
We work with attentive, intentional care. This means we are fully present and carefully observe and listen to what your child shows us. Throughout the day, we consciously make time for one-to-one moments. For example, during care routines, when your child receives our full attention and we take the time to respond to their signals. In this way, we get to know your child well and build a trusting relationship between the Childcare Professional and your child. From this sense of trust, we are able to respond to what your child needs within the group, supporting them to develop at their own pace and explore the world.
Respectful communication
We communicate with children in a respectful way. We actively listen to what your child says and acknowledge the emotions we see. In this way, we help your child understand their feelings and learn how to deal with them. At the same time, we set clear boundaries with a positive approach. We encourage your child to think along and find solutions together. This helps them feel heard and understood, and learn to navigate boundaries, emotions and relationships with others in a positive way.
Experience based learning
Children learn by doing. That is why we give your child the space to play freely, explore at their own pace and gain their own experiences through everyday activities. The focus is on the process, rather than the outcome. We also provide room for more challenging play, where children try new things and explore their boundaries. We always guide this in a safe and responsible way. In this way, your child discovers what they are already capable of and builds confidence.
Driven by talent
Every child has their own talents. For us, these are the things a child naturally enjoys and give them energy. It is not about being the best at something, but about what comes naturally and brings joy. We pay close attention to what makes your child happy and what comes easily to them. By recognising and encouraging these talents, your child becomes aware of qualities that often feel very natural to them. This builds self-awareness and helps their confidence grow.
Diversity and inclusion
Every child is welcome with us, regardless of background, culture or personal characteristics. We believe it is important that your child feels welcome and free to be who they are. Within the group, your child experiences that everyone is different, and that these differences are what make the group richer. We work from a place of equality. This means we look at what your child needs and respond accordingly. In this way, every child has the space to grow in their own way and to feel part of the group.
Nature engagement
With us, your child builds a connection with nature from an early age. For babies, a sense of wonder is at the heart of this: watching, touching and discovering. Toddlers become increasingly familiar with everything that grows and lives, and develop a love and respect for nature. In after-school care, children discover how they can contribute to caring for the world around them.
Every day, we go outside with the children at least once, experiencing nature in all seasons. Nature also has a place indoors, through play and experiential activities. In this way, children feel connected to nature and become engaged with the world around them.
Tips and inspiration for parents
Parenting is something we do together. That is why we are happy to share our pedagogical vision and approach with as many parents as possible. Curious to learn more?
